At Dark Storm Industries, we don’t rely on workarounds—we engineer solutions. Our Fixed Magazine Stripped Lower Receivers are purpose-built to meet the letter of the law in all restricted states, including NY, NJ, MA, CT, IL, WA, and CA.
These lowers are not AR-15s in the eyes of the law. Why? Because there’s no magazine release milled into the receiver. That one critical difference makes this design:
- Not a copy, duplicate, or variant of any existing AR-style lower
- Legal under the definitions found in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Washington, Illinois, and beyond
The design was patented and launched specifically to address the legal frameworks established in states like New York (SAFE Act, 2013) and other similarly structured bans. And it’s worked—we’ve been selling these receivers successfully since then.
Despite the compliance-driven nature of the design, this lower maintains the same look, feel, and full parts compatibility as our standard DS-15, preserving the familiar AR-15 manual of arms.
