Dark Storm Industries offers a dedicated line of Non-NFA Firearms — designed to deliver tactical performance while remaining outside the scope of the National Firearms Act. With an overall length of over 26 inches, these platforms do not require a tax stamp and are not classified as short-barreled rifles or AOW under federal law.
This configuration is ideal for residents in all unrestricted states as well as New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware where standard DS-15 rifles are restricted but Non-NFA alternatives remain legal. These firearms retain the full DS-15 platform feel while avoiding the delays and restrictions of NFA classification.
Important Notice:
- The DS-15 Non-NFA Firearm Typhoon does not fall under the definition of an "Assault Weapon" in NJ, MD, or DE and is legal in those states.
- It is NOT legal in MA, NY, CA, CT, IL, WA, or Washington D.C.
- It is not a rifle, as it does not have a stock and is not designed to be fired from the shoulder.
- It is not a pistol, as it has a 12.5" barrel and features a forward vertical grip, designed to be fired with two hands.
- It is not an AOW, as it has an overall length greater than 26", is not designed to be fired from the shoulder, and features a vertical forward grip.
- It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable state and local laws.
