Q: What is the ordering process for serialized items (complete firearms and lowers)
A: All serialized items must ship to a Federal Firearms License holder. You purchase your firearm or lower just as you would any other item. Put in your actual shipping address not the FFL that the firearm is shipping to.
AFTER you have placed your order, you will receive an order confirmation email with instructions on how to have your FFL submit their information.
If you need assistance in finding a dealer that can facilitate your firearms transfer you can use our Dealer Locator located at the top of the homepage. If your receiving FFL is listed on our Dealer Locator you can list them in the order comments section during checkout and no further action is required. If they are not please follow the directions on your order confirmation or have your dealer submit their information here.
Q: What if my local FFL says they will not accept the transfer
A: In restricted states especially newly restricted ones this can happen from time to time. They either don’t understand the configuration or the laws as written for your state. If it is listed on our site as being legal for you to own in your state then it is. Should your dealer prefer not to facilitate the transfer please use our Dealer Locator to find the closest dealer to you.
Q: How long does it take to ship my order?
A: All products available on our website are built to order. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing and shipment.
Q: How do I figure out what is legal for me to own in my state.
A: If you live in a restricted state we have broken the website into sections. Click on State Compliant Firearms and choose your state. That then opens a subpage giving a brief overview of your state’s law as well as the configurations that are available for you. Click on the individual configuration tiles to open their corresponding product pages.
Q: Are your fixed magazine firearms proprietary?
A: All our fixed magazine firearms are built to Mil Spec dimensions. This means that any aftermarket Mil Spec components will fit our fixed magazine lowers. They have identical dimensions to our standard lowers minus the ability to accept a magazine release.
Q: What if the law changes in my state or I move to an unrestricted state?
A: We want you to continue to enjoy your Dark Storm Industries firearm for years to come. With that in mind we have developed our Lower Swap Program. The program is for the original owner of a complete DSI firearm only. Stripped and complete lower receivers do not qualify for the program.
After you have moved or should the law change, you can purchase a lower swap and upload a copy of your new state identification. You then send us your stripped fixed mag lower receiver, and we send you a standard lower receiver replacement.
It will also include a letter saying that we are in possession of your old serial number, and it has been replaced with the new one. The new lower will ship directly to the address on your state identification signature required. No FFL is needed as this is considered a warranty repair per the ATF.
Q: Is your DS-25 compatible with AR-10 uppers and parts
A: No, the DS-25 is a small frame hybrid of an AR-10 and AR-15. It has more in common with an AR-15 than it does with an AR-10. AR-15 small parts, triggers and handguards will work with the DS-25. AR-10 components will not.
Q: Is there a speed loader for the DS-25 line
A: Currently the speed loaders are designed for use in 5.56/.300 Blk fixed magazine firearms only. There is no speed loader for the DS-25 fixed magazine.
Q: Do your firearms include a warranty?
A: Yes, all of our firearms are guaranteed for life with a fully transferable warranty. The details can be found here.
Q: Where are your products made?
A: All of the components of our firearms and the firearms themselves are proudly made in our facility in Rockledge, FL using all domestically sourced materials.
Q: Do you publish full specifications for each model?
A: Yes. Each product page includes detailed specs and configuration notes. A digital copy of your manuals can be found here.
