DS-15 & DS-25 Short Barrel Rifles

Dark Storm Industries Short Barrel Rifles include DS-15 and DS-25 configurations manufactured at our Rockledge, Florida facility. The lineup includes compact Typhoon and MFR models built around the same DSI platforms, components, and manufacturing standards used throughout our rifle lineup.

DS-15 Typhoon Short Barrel Rifles are available with 10.5-inch, 12.5-inch, and 14.5-inch barrels. DS-15 MFR configurations are available with 12.5-inch and 14.5-inch barrels, providing multiple compact configurations within the established DS-15 platform.

The DS-25 lineup expands the category into DSI's small-frame, large-caliber platform with a 12.5-inch .308 Winchester Typhoon and a 14.5-inch 6.5 Creedmoor MFR.

Each Short Barrel Rifle is manufactured and assembled by Dark Storm Industries with a focus on American manufacturing, consistent fit and finish, and dependable performance. All DSI firearms are backed by our transferable lifetime warranty.

Federal Transfer Options

As of October 9, 2026, ATF has announced that it will not enforce federal NFA requirements for prior approval, registration, or tax stamps for short-barreled rifles covered by its current guidance. Federal Gun Control Act requirements remain in effect.

Customers may choose to have their Short Barrel Rifle transferred under ATF's current federal guidance or request voluntary NFA registration and transfer through the traditional NFA process. Dealer-to-consumer transfers remain subject to ATF Form 4473, applicable background-check requirements, and all other federal, state, and local requirements regardless of the transfer option selected.

State and local laws governing Short Barrel Rifles vary and are not superseded by ATF's federal enforcement policy. Certain jurisdictions may prohibit Short Barrel Rifles or require federal registration as a condition of lawful possession.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that possession, transfer, and transportation of a Short Barrel Rifle are lawful in their jurisdiction before purchase.
