DS-15 Mil-Plus AR-15 Bolt Carrier Group

The Dark Storm Industries DS-15 Mil-Plus Bolt Carrier Group is a premium AR-15 bolt carrier group manufactured in-house at our Rockledge, Florida facility using U.S.-produced alloy steels. Built around established Mil-Spec dimensional standards, the Mil-Plus BCG incorporates DSI upgrades designed to improve strength, durability, and service life.

Every component is subjected to extensive dimensional inspection throughout the machining process rather than relying on batch inspection. DSI performs more than 100 quality-control checks during production to verify critical dimensions and maintain consistent fit and function.

The 9310 alloy steel bolt incorporates DSI's enhanced geometry, including an increased radius at the rear of the locking lugs to reduce stress concentration at a common failure point. The bolt body is also enlarged around the cam-pin area to reduce bolt stretch. These changes are designed to increase bolt service life while retaining compatibility with standard AR-15 bolt carriers and barrel extensions.

The bolt and carrier are carburized rather than nitrided and finished with manganese phosphate for corrosion resistance. Critical heat and wear surfaces use hard chrome where specified. Commercial bolts are not high-pressure tested, as DSI's production process is designed to avoid the additional service-life reduction associated with proof-load testing.

DSI bolts and carriers are individually lot marked to provide traceability of material, machining, heat treatment, and finish.
