DS-15 Modern Fighting Pistol 7.5″

The Dark Storm Industries MFR, or Modern Fighting Pistol, is a compact, feature-rich platform designed around the same engineering and full ambidextrous controls found in the MFR rifle. Developed from the ground up with the shooter in mind, the MFR combines high-grade American materials, enhanced coatings, DSI-developed components, and premium controls in a compact 7.5-inch configuration.

Starting at the muzzle, the MFR features our W.T.F. Flash Hider. Developed to reduce muzzle flash, testing has shown it reduces the visible light signature by more than 20% compared with a standard A2 flash hider.

The 6-inch free-float M-LOK handguard places attachment slots where they are needed while retaining material in areas where additional rigidity is beneficial. This reduces radial flex and provides a stable platform for mounting optics, lasers, and other accessories. It is secured to the upper with a robust barrel nut that also functions as a heat sink, increasing heat transfer from the chamber area. The MFR handguard also incorporates our Chainlink handguard-to-upper tether to prevent lateral or forward movement. Two removable stainless steel dowels provide additional indexing and retention.

Under the handguard is our sub-MOA 7.5-inch SOCOM-profile barrel. Machined from Mil-Spec 4150 CMV steel, it features a black nitride heat treatment for durability and corrosion resistance. The barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO to CIP headspace specifications and button-rifled with a 1:7 twist. A pinned gas block provides secure, long-term operation.

The 7075 forged upper features a serviceable steel pin for the ambidextrous charging handle to latch onto, along with a countersunk E-clip for additional retention. It also includes an additional rear Picatinny rail slot to accommodate backup sights when using optics with shorter eye relief.

The low-shelf 7075 forged lower features full ambidextrous controls for right- and left-handed shooters. The ambidextrous bolt catch locks back and releases the BCG, while the dual-ejector bolt produces consistent ejection. The flat-blade two-stage trigger features a 3.5 lb. total pull and short reset, while the ambidextrous magazine release provides intuitive operation from either side.

The bolt carrier group features an advanced nitride/DLC finish from ArmorLube, developed through U.S. Army research and development. The coating is engineered to reduce friction and wear compared with traditional lubricated manganese-phosphate and hard-chrome finishes.

The SB Tactical A3 pistol brace is adjustable to six positions on our Mil-Spec buffer tube, which incorporates SOCOM drain holes and triple rear vent holes to assist with the expulsion of gas and water. It is paired with a high-angle Magpul K2 grip.

The upper, lower, and handguard receive a Type III undyed hardcoat anodized finish beneath Cerakote Gen 2 IR signature-reduction coating, reducing the firearm's infrared signature when viewed under night vision with IR illumination.

The result is a compact MFR platform combining full ambidextrous controls, a rigid free-float handguard, premium materials, enhanced coatings, and DSI-developed components in a configuration designed for demanding use.
