Dark Storm Variant 1 Non-NFA Firearm
The Dark Storm Variant 1 Non-NFA Firearm is a purpose-built “Other” configuration combining the distinctive Variant 1 billet receiver design with a 12.5-inch barrel, vertical forward grip, no shoulder stock, and an overall length greater than 26 inches.
Built on a precision-matched billet receiver set, the Variant 1 combines competition-inspired performance with dependable operation. Its Tungsten Cerakote finish highlights the detail-rich receiver design by Ed Earle, while partial ambidextrous controls and an 11.5-inch M-LOK handguard provide a versatile platform for optics and accessories. The 12.5-inch SOCOM-profile barrel uses a carbine-length gas system, while an expansion-chamber-based Competition Compensator helps reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil. A Magpul MOE vertical foregrip and SB Tactical SBA brace complete the Non-NFA configuration.
Effective 03/01/2026: All Non-NFA firearms will ship with a Magpul K2 pistol grip.
Every firearm is hand-assembled and individually tested at our factory in Rockledge, Florida, using American-made components and materials.

DSI does not currently offer this configuration for sale in Massachusetts, Maryland, California, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington State, or Washington, D.C.
